Continuing from yesterday’s blog, what could change the behavior of Joe that Joe will stop troubling the neighbors Jack (non Violent) and Jill (Violent).
If British were to give freedom based on fear of NSC Bose, they could have done (1) long back before 1947 and (2) they would have negotiated with him first, in as much as there is negotiation between people high-jack planes and police or government. But there is no evidence of this taking place in Freedom matter for India.
If British had to do it because of Mahatma Gandhi, the same 2 points would have taken place. Again no evidence these.
If British had to free India due to external environment of World war crisis they could have done immediately after World war 1.
So WW1 did not change their stance.
So what happened in World War 2 , that changed their behavior?
I am very sure that there would have been lots of brainy individuals to advise Jack and Jill in various ways to win over Joe.
I also know that if any one to advise Jack or Jill to hurt Joe (Joe being British with lots of finance and military power, such people would have been declared ‘Extremists’ ‘Terrorists’ and so on). Sometimes people with so much of money and power, decide there is No God, they are the GODs governing the whole world. (this is what Hitler, Stalin and Mousoline believed, if they three join together, united, they will rule the world)
I am also sure that there would have been large number of people worshiping various religious Gods and Goddess and perform lots of penance to help the WIN of Jack and Jill over Joe (names to win over British for free India).
I would think 90+ years more, could have surpassed 2 generations, if not 3 generations, (without seeing light at the end of the tunnel of where this freedom movement could lead India to).
To understand what made British to free India, we may have to recall what happened in USA, just before and after Abraham Lincoln’s, John F Kennedy’s assassination. We also can relate to the recent development of many countries sending military troops to Afghanistan, and what happened to USA in Afghanistan just after Sub Prime Lending Collapse of Banking system in USA in 2007.
It should have been only when Joe had to spend time to look after (his/her) own house and family, s/he would have reduced causing difficulties to Jack and Jill. None of the actions of Jack and Jill would have yielded the desired result from Joe, (namely to free India).
Now we have to explore what was such event that changed the course of behavior of British then in 1947?
