In the example of Joe, Jack and Jill, the British was not just causing nuisance to India, but in reality have been dictating and dominating.

We cannot ignore the fact that Queen Elizabeth II was barely 19 years old when she was facing World war 2 when she approved USA attacking Japan with atomic bombs.

In the example, why would Joe (Britain) call back their troops (much more than how it is done today in Iraq/Afghanistan etc), all of a sudden from India?

In my understanding it is the human nature, that they will spend all their time dominating over the neighbor and ensure their intelligence surpasses neighbors and do tit for tat of whatever the neighbor does, UNTIL they have to devote their time to look after themselves and their own families or until they are SICK in their mental or physical health!

If today (divided) India is so attractive to more than 540 politicians in Central government elected each 5 years (if the election holds the normal term) + each of the 27+ State Assembly members, feed them and allow them to be corrupt and save their money in Swizz Banks, please remember, ALL this money and much more is what was ABANDONED by British overnight on 14 Aug 1947 and left India, without wanting a Pound or Shilling from India.

The decision of Great Britain then to free India is unimaginable one. Imagine yourselves as a CEO of an organisation, where a particular branch of your organisation, that has been making profits for you over 90+ years and one fine day (over night) you show that you have handed that to some other charity from where you cannot get a dollar worth of income?

Now a days we hear elderly couple downsizing their homes. At peak time when they can manage a 3 or 4 or 5 bedroom house (when they have energy and health), later in their lives they GIVE UP on a few bedrooms as unnecessary and difficult to maintain. They downsize to 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom house, as they (1) dont have mental or physical health to maintain the big house and/or (2) they invest this extra income of disposing 5 bedroom house and buying a 1 or 2 bedroom house, in a beneficial manner.

Great Britain is no different to my above logic. Great Britain too manged by HUMAN beings only, subject to human limitations. When they freed India, there was NO monetary proceeds they received, to say they found a more profitable investment with greater returns, that British invested the income from India to another country.

So obviously they DECIDED on giving up / Freeing India ONLY for (1) above, mental and/or physical health of Queen Elizabeth II was impacted after world war 2. It is important to mention here, Hiroshima was bombed on 6th Aug 1945, Nagasaki was bombed on 9th Aug 1945, India was freed on 14th Aug 1947. So it was NOT immediately after the major impact of World war 2, that Great Britain freed India.

They have thought a lot and wanted to choose the person (namely here Gandhi) to be worthy of handing over freedom, by which (as everyone thinks even now, that Britain appreciated Non violence and British are good people, Queen is great and good). In this task even Great Britain can join the crowd as Gandhi got independence for India. This way, it can indirectly magnify the good side of Queen and great Britain.

It wont allow anyone to suspect or think, WHY Britain freed India!!!!

Who are the beneficiaries of this in divided India today?

Definitely not the common people in all aspects. Definitely there is a gain to common people as they can afford education cheaper today, medical facilities etc, but even the air they breathe and water are expensive to manage the living.

If British were looting India in those many years of ruling, is it not the same now done by own politicians there?

So the beneficiaries are PRIMARILY the business and politicians.

This is the main reason why spiritual people (people who believe in God and Goddess and their prayers) would not have been in freedom fight in full spirit, as they know, whoever is ruling India, at the end NO One is bothered about the common people.

So what made British to give freedom to India and what happened immediately after that?
